A comprehensive, point-in-time dataset for global Equities
In the world of data – quality is everything. As data demands surge, finding accessible, differentiated, organised, structured, and well governed data is an ongoing challenge. We have been building our proprietary global equity research dataset Apollo for over 20 years to just such a set of guidelines and, for some time now, Apollo data has been available to end users via Open FactSet and via our own API interface. We have now made Apollo data even more accessible and user friendly as the whole database can now be delivered seamlessly to your workflows via Snowflake – a data warehouse built for the cloud.
Data Delivery available via Snowflake
To help capitalize on the explosion of AI data demands and uncover additional insights that can give you an investment edge, you can quickly and efficiently gain access to Libra’s proprietary Apollo data, via Snowflake. The combination of Libra’s data and Snowflake’s cloud-based delivery product offers customers a managed and scalable solution that simplifies their access to the data and enhances their ability to work with Libra’s Apollo datasets more efficiently. It means that you can directly access and query our (daily updating) proprietary global equity dataset; eliminating the data ingestion process and significantly improving your productivity and efficiency. For any investment group looking to deploy machine learning or AI based tools using Snowflake’s database architecture, Apollo provides the kind of systematic, dynamically adjusting, forward-looking data and insights for listed shares simply not available elsewhere. When combined with Snowflake’s separation of storage and computing, complex investment queries become more efficient, granting you more time for analysis.
Through Snowflake, Libra’s Apollo dataset is fully managed and ready for clients to query. Clients can access the service via the cloud platform of their choice, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
With Apollo data via Snowflake, you can:
- Reduce time to insights: Get daily updates of Apollo’s stock level data to accelerate analytics and make more timely decisions.
- Eliminate data transformation: With no need to extract and transform Apollo’s data before using it, you can reduce the time, effort, and cost associated with data analytics by pulling Apollo’s forecasts, analytics, and signals directly into your own analysis.
- Improve operational efficiency: Access to well structured, ready-to-query Apollo data gives you the ability to streamline data analytics operations and get value from your data faster.
- Streamline your workflow: Directly integrate Apollo data into you existing views.
At Libra, we can also share the data from our own Snowflake instance to the customer’s Snowflake instance. This allows the customer to run their analysis using their own compute credits.
Libra Apollo Dataset Available in Snowflake
- The dataset is a derived, proprietary data set of stock level, forward looking valuation metrics, analytics, forecasts, and factor-based timing signals covering over 8000 global stocks.
- The data is point-in-time – it has been running as the underpinning of Libra’s advisory business since 2005 and has approximately 50 discrete, updating time series per stock per day as well as a full daily history back to 2004.
- The unique time series nature of these valuation metrics, risk analytics, expected return forecasts, measures of implied volatility, timing signals is compounded by their capacity to be used for cross sectional analysis, allowing for aggregation into sector, market, or portfolio baskets with the same degree of granularity as at the individual stock level.
